This site was created by two globe-trotters who can't wait to get back to Japan. We spent six weeks traveling from Nagasaki to Sapporo for our honeymoon and had a great time exploring love hotels along the way. When we got home, we found that few of our friends had heard of this sort of lodging, and even fewer had "rested" or "stayed." While volumes of travel guides describe the ins and outs of Japan, there's nothing to help the average gaijin enjoy a "lovely" experience. Hence, this website.
Since we don’t know when we'll have a chance to do more first-hand reconnaissance (we're available for sponsored trips and guided tours!), we hope you can help us add to the site. Please share your stories and advice.
We've also started a Google Group to discuss love hotels and all things Japan. Finally, there is a Google Map showing all of the love hotels we've included in our guide, and each hotel in the Directory also has a link to the exact location. Enjoy!
